One of the main issues with credit card payments is when the payment is made. Most wait until the statement is created before making a payment. The balance at the time the statement is created will be the balance reported to the credit bureau. The key and trick is to make a payment prior to the statement is generated so that the balance reported will not be large thus increasing your score.
Example: Take American Express, if you wait until your credit card statement is created to make payments, what will be reported is the amount you owe and it could increase you debt to credit limit ratio thus reducing your score. It is a good ideal to make payments along the way to keep the balance low. This is something most just do not know about credit scores.
This applies to credit card too.
